Ceremonial units serve veterans & the community

Some of the most recognized functions of Post 236 are provided by its ceremonial units, the Honor Guard and Color Guard.
The Honor Guard, established in 2007, has performed military rites for the funerals of veterans, at the request of their families, more than 700 times at sites throughout the western end of the state.
The Color Guard presents the National Colors and flags of the POW/MIA and the American Legion in posting ceremonies at the Veterans Honor Plaza at Mike Miller Park for holiday celebrations such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day and other events. The Honor Guard has served at a variety of other public activities, including parades, sports events, ribbon-cutting ceremonies and other functions.
